The Doyle group is involved in the development of Ni/photoredox catalyzed methods to convert feedstock chemicals to value-added products. Mechanistic studies of these reactions are being conducted in collaboration to elucidate the photochemistry and photophysics of Ni catalysts relevant to cross coupling and use this understanding to design improved and new C–C bond-forming reactions. The group also participates in the design of novel photocatalyst systems that address limitations with established precious metal catalysts.
